AggieRatings is a browser extension that shows Rate My Professors ratings on UC Davis's Class Search Tool. This policy explains what the extension accesses, stores, and sends.
What the extension accesses
The extension runs only on UC Davis's Class Search Tool
(registrar-apps.ucdavis.edu). To show ratings it reads the
instructor names and course codes already displayed on that page. It does not
read your personal information, login, schedule, or registration data, and it
has no access to any authenticated UC Davis system.
Network requests
To display ratings and photos, the extension fetches data from:
- Rate My Professors (
ratemyprofessors.com) โ professor ratings and reviews. - UC Davis departmental websites (
*.ucdavis.edu) โ public faculty pages, used only to find a professor's published headshot.
These requests contain only a professor's name or course code โ never anything about you. No identifiers, cookies, or personal data are sent.
Local storage
Fetched ratings and photo URLs are cached in your browser's local extension storage
(chrome.storage.local) to speed up repeat visits. This data never
leaves your device and can be cleared at any time from the extension's
settings ("Clear cache") or by removing the extension.
Data we do not handle
We do not collect or process personally identifiable information, browsing history, location, financial information, authentication credentials, or any user-entered content.
Third parties
The third-party services above have their own privacy policies. AggieRatings is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the University of California, Davis or Rate My Professors.
